Basketball Wall Street: The NCAA Notebook 

The new University of Wisconsin Women’s Basketball head coach Marissa Moseley, just hired her staff. Scott Merritt, is now the program’s associate head coach. Kate Barnosky, the Tufts University alumni will take on the same assistant coach position she held at Boston University under coach Moseley. Add in UConn disciple Caroline Doty, as the final assistant, who is coming in from her position in sports management with the WNBA.

William Cleary, just resigned as the head women’s basketball coach at Colgate University after five seasons. The Villanova grad previously coached at two D2 schools, Wilmington College in Delaware and at Bloomsburg University, Pennsylvania.

The Mississippi State women’s basketball program just part ways with assistant coach Sceptor Brownlee.

Brooklyn, N.Y. native Jude Jabir, takes over at Siena College after a short stint at Florida Atlantic University.

Charleston Southern will not renew the contract of women’s basketball head coach Fred Applin, assistant coach Deion Craig will serve as the interim head coach while the search is on for a new coach.

Ohio State takes a hit in their front-court with the transfers of, AAliyah Patty 6-3 (F) Jr and versatile Dorka Juhaz 6-4 Jr from Hungary.  On another note, coach McGuff Just recently received a commitment from Kaia Henderson, a 5-foot-6 junior guard from New Hartford, New York.

Janae Crooms, 5-10 Guard from Rhode Island entered the portal, transferring from Michigan State. Crooms started her career at Ohio State.

Kiara Fisher 5-7 Guard, out of Elmira, New York add to the exodus of players leaving Syracuse.

Destiny Salary, 6-0 FR Guard lands at Ole Miss after one season in Knoxville at Tennessee.

Zipporah Broughton, 5-foot-7 Jr lands in Gainesville at Florida after 3 seasons at Rutgers University.

NCAA Transfer Winners:


Coach Walz and staff bring in Emily Engstler, a 6-foot-1 versatile guard/wing. The New York native, turned the corner as a player her junior year, maturing and getting herself into tip-top condition winning the ACC 6th player award respectively, when there was no question she should have been a starter on this years team. Inter-league transfers can be dangerous, it will be interesting to see how the ACC plays out next season.

Chelsie Hall 5-7 point-guard, comes into Louisville with experience to add after the graduation of the programs catalyst senior PG Dana Evans.

North Carolina State:

Head Coach Wes Moore and staff, add two top tier transfers in, Diamond Johnson 5-6 frosh PG with jet-speed and a strong skill-set left Rutgers after just one season. Former McDonald’s All-American, Madison Hayes 6-0 freshman guard comes into Raleigh from Mississippi State.

Mississippi State:

It’s Sister Sledge time down in Starkville when new women’s basketball head coach Nikki McCray, bring in the three Hayes sisters, Anastasia 5-7 JR, Aislynn 5-6 SO both from Middle Tennessee State, and Alasia 5-7 FR from Notre Dame.

Louisiana State University:

Autumn Newby 6-2 (F) grad transfer from Vanderbilt – Aaliyah Copeland 6-3 (P) grad transfer from Alabama

Penn State:

Ali Brigham 6-4 FR (P) George Washington transfer – Alli Campbell 6-0 FR guard in from Notre Dame.


Koi Love 6-0 FR (G) Florida prospect leaves Vanderbilt to attend Arizona after their strong NCAA Final Four run.
