Madison Qauttlander, is the epitome of a classic student-athlete. The Bronx, New York native is a hardworking and skilled point-guard that is ready to take her game to the next level. The shifty and mentally tough prospect plays with a high motor on both ends of the court. Her prowess in the classroom mirrors her play on the basketball court. Proud of her Puerto Rican and Dominican heritage, Quattlander is a Spanish Honors Student at the academically concrete Preston High School (Bronx, NY). Look for Madison Qauttlander to leave everything on the court the second half of the NCAA viewing period starting off with the Run for the Roses Event in Louisville, Kentucky.
As a student athlete I take the utmost importance in my school life. I strive for challenging classes and push myself to the best of my abilities. In my athletic life I also motivate myself to not only work on the things in the game that I struggle with, but I also try to perfect and enhance the skills that I am good at. Moreover, the goals that I have for the upcoming season are to develop my game and push myself to the next level in my basketball journey. While I’m pushing myself to this next level, my goal is to enjoy every game like it is my last and play to the best of my abilities while having fun.
Books before Basketball
Two subjects I like studying in the classroom are mathematics and history. I enjoy the study of history because it does not only let me see the good, but also the past mistakes of others and informs me of the culture of other places. Mathematics has always been my favorite subject because of its complex problems and it’s overall something I enjoy.
My strongest attributes as a basketball player is my defense, skill-set and basketball IQ. I believe that defense is the most important skill in the game because it is something that you cannot teach a player. Hustling and defense comes from the heart because it is something you cannot force. Basketball IQ is very important as well because in order to play the game you must understand how the game works. Basketball IQ develops a different level to the game and makes it much more organized and fun.
